huddled together in my childhood movie theatre mocking a horror movie. sitting under field lights in the park while it lightly rained. watching markiplier in the car on his phone while we ate fast food. letting him sit in my room where none of my friends visited and how my beloved cats were so curious of him. waking up on my twin-sized mattress at midnight to tell him goodbye after spending the day together. happy that we hit a red light because it meant we spent more time together. sneaking my bike into his SUV after work so no one knew we were hanging out together.

the first night at our first apartment together, knowing i could always be with him and my cats at the same time. having the hard conversations with him and always sleeping beside him every night because i would never want to be anywhere else. watching him get into all the media i hold close to me and genuinely enjoying it. getting lost with eachother at halloween horror nights and knowing i was always safe with him. putting glow in the dark stars in the ceiling of our bathroom and standing back to admire the glow.

i associate him with black bears because i encountered one in yosemite. i was in awe how strong the animal was but how fast she moved. i ran because my instincts told me too. i kept seeing bears the whole trip, and before this i had always seen anakin as a bear anyway. strong and imposing when he needs to, but gentle and natural like the earth.
